Honors Student Places Second In National Business Student of the Year Competition

Kayla Skaggs, 23, a cosmetology student at Honors Beauty College in Fishers, earned second place honors in the annual Nuts and Bolts Business Student of the Year Competition.

Kayla Skaggs, 23, a cosmetology student at Honors Beauty College in Fishers, earned second place honors in the annual Nuts and Bolts Business Student of the Year Competition. Kayla received the award on Sunday, January 31st during the International Salon and Spa Exposition held in Long Beach, California.
A graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School, Kayla competed against aspiring beauty professionals from across the country. Each candidate was scored on their academic achievements, customer service skills, service and retail sales, as well as a creative visual presentation.
Kayla was nominated by John Halal, president of Honors Beauty College and a former owner of two Indianapolis salons. “In addition to having a great work ethic and entrepreneurial attitude, Kayla has a strong business savvy that will serve her well as she earns her license and becomes a successful beauty professional,” said Halal.
